Your planting instructions!

Going to keep this one short and sweet.

I am AMPED to announce that 1,000 people have now signed up to rewild NYC — and it’s time to start planting!

To be honest, this first milestone — converting tree beds into native gardens — is not going to be easy.

There’s dog piss, and soil compaction, and so many more obstacles.

But we’re doing it anyways. Because of what it’ll mean.

If even one tree bed in 1,000 can establish something as delicate as a wildflower, it’ll give hope that all of it is possible — green roofs, living walls, balcony gardens.

A lighthearted, connected, nature-filled city.

We’re going to do this. One tiny garden at a time.

The path to rewilding NYC starts with the empty tree beds all around us.
